Product Overview
The Coal Caking Index Tester is designed for laboratory determination of the caking ability of bituminous coal, including the Roga Index and caking index. It is suitable for coal, metallurgy, coking, and research laboratories that evaluate the bonding performance of coal during carbonization. The supplied specification states that the instrument was designed to meet the requirements of GB/T 5447-1997.
How It Works
A measured quantity of finely divided coal sample is mixed uniformly with a specified quantity of coarser anthracite used as an inert material. During carbonization, the plastic mass produced by the test coal binds the anthracite particles together. The resulting coke is subjected to a controlled rotating-drum abrasion test. Its resistance to breakdown indicates the bonding ability of the test coal, and the caking index is calculated using the prescribed formula.
Key Advantages
The operator can preset any value from 1 to 999 revolutions to suit the required test procedure.
The built-in controller identifies counting pulses automatically and provides accurate revolution monitoring throughout the drum test.
The drive stops when the preset revolution count is reached, reducing manual timing and improving consistency between tests.
The liquid-crystal display provides clear revolution information for straightforward routine operation.
Manual and automatic reset functions simplify repeated testing and laboratory workflow.

Applications
Suitable for coal mines, coking plants, metallurgical facilities, coal-quality laboratories, universities, and research institutes. Test results support evaluation and comparison of the caking properties of bituminous coal used in coking and related industrial processes.
