Product Overview

The XQM Series vertical planetary ball mill is a compact, versatile and efficient powder-processing system designed for mixing, fine grinding, laboratory sample preparation, new-product development and small-batch production of advanced materials. Four samples can be processed simultaneously, making it an efficient choice for research institutes, universities and industrial laboratories. When fitted with vacuum grinding jars, samples can also be processed under vacuum.

The machine is widely used in geology, mineral processing, metallurgy, electronics, building materials, ceramics, chemicals, light industry, pharmaceuticals and environmental protection. Typical applications include electronic ceramics, catalysts, phosphors, battery materials, nanomaterials and alumina ceramics.

How It Works

Planetary motion: Four grinding jars are mounted on a single rotating sun wheel. As the wheel revolves, each jar simultaneously rotates around its own axis, creating a planetary motion.
Grinding and mixing: Grinding balls collide at high speed inside each jar, generating impact and friction that rapidly grind and mix the sample.
Dry and wet processing: The system supports both dry and wet grinding for materials with different properties and initial particle sizes.
Fine particle production: According to the source document, the minimum achievable particle size can reach 0.1 μm, depending on the material, process conditions and grinding configuration.

Key Advantages

Precision-built, stable housing

The square enclosure is formed with high-precision tooling for a clean, professional appearance and improved structural stability. CNC-machined components and an integrally cast planetary disc help reduce vibration.

Reliable planetary transmission

Precision gears manufactured from specialized materials coordinate the sun wheel and planetary gears, producing combined revolution and rotation for efficient, smooth operation.

Efficient variable-speed grinding

Variable-frequency speed control allows operating conditions to be matched to different materials and target particle sizes.

Versatile processing modes

Supports dry, wet, vacuum and low-temperature grinding, with jar materials including stainless steel, corundum and zirconia.

Programmable touchscreen control

Grinding time, forward/reverse cycles and rotational speed can be programmed. The controller also supports task monitoring and data recording.

Integrated safety protection

An electromagnetic door lock, door-position safety switch and anti-loosening nuts help protect operators during high-speed operation. The jar clamping system is designed for convenient and secure operation.

Low-noise operation

A solid-lubrication or self-lubricating oil gearbox helps keep operating noise below 60 dB, according to the source document.
